The story
From one van of boards to NZ's surf school
Aotearoa Surf started with a simple idea on a quiet Northland beach: surfing is for everyone, not just the kids who grow up with a board under the house. Two decades later the family includes surf schools at Te Arai, Mangawhai, Orewa and beyond, the eco pod village behind the Te Arai dunes, and more than a thousand five-star reviews from people who caught their first wave with us.
Schools have always been the heart of it. A school program is where the kid who has never seen the ocean up close gets the same first wave as everyone else. That is the version of surfing we started this company for.
