Privacy policy

Aotearoa Surf (the schools and groups service at schoolsurf.co.nz) collects and handles personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

When you enquire or book we collect contact details (name, email, phone, school or organisation), trip details (numbers, dates, year levels), and, for confirmed bookings, the health, dietary and swimming-confidence information needed to run sessions safely.

How we use it

To respond to enquiries, prepare proposals and safety documentation, run safe sessions, and send you relevant information about school programs (which you can opt out of at any time). Student medical information is used only for session safety, shared only with the instructors running your session, and disposed of after the trip.

What we never do

We do not sell personal information, and we do not publish student names or photographs without documented consent from the school and whanau.

Storage and access

Information is stored in our booking and email systems, which are access-controlled. You may request access to or correction of your personal information at any time by emailing surf@aotearoasurf.co.nz.
